Glacier with Grandma and Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa came for a visit.  It was such a crazy week with all of us going in different directions so Val took them up through the park.  It had been years since mom had been through the park and they had a great but long day.

At Lake McDonald

The beautiful flowers.

The waterfall.

At the top of the pass they watched a mountain goat family.  If you look really close on the right side you can see the little baby.

Another picture of the baby.  Val said it was pretty new and a little wobbly on it's feet, but oh so cute.

Looking out on Wild Goose Island.

Val played with the panoramic feature on the camera.  It works great but the pictures come out small.

Mom and dad on Looking Glass Hill.

I love living in Montana - every view is beautiful.

Never a dull moment when playing disc golf!

Val and Chad play in a disc golf league every week.  They left to play and a huge storm came through but they didn't come home and they didn't come home, I was a little worried.  So when they got home, they sure had an adventure.  During the storm the guys hid to ride it out but when Val looked over there was a fire behind the truck from some downed power lines.  So they had to wait for the fire department to come put it out and then wait for the pavement to cool down enough to back out.

You can see the proximity of the truck and the fire and all the power lines.

The fire was so hot - over 600 degrees - that if Val drove over it it would have melted the tires.

 The boiling water and payment.

The KFD putting out the fire.

One of the firemen (Mike) has a son Chad's age and they have been on many football and other sports teams for years and he let Chad work the hose.

It was definitely an exciting evening . . . and they didn't even finish their disc golf game.

Keston's Birthday . . . Rockin' 16

Keston's birthday was one of those crazy days when there was so much going on but we were able to get in some celebration.  I would like to say he was working on something great but he was just playing computer games.

Getting ready to open the presents.

Chad got Keston some Magic cards.  They love playing this game.

Keston wanted to get a running parachute.  His summers are so busy he hasn't used it much.

Because his list of items he thinks he needs is not reasonable . . . he got a jar of skittles with some surprises inside.

His reaction from the card Granny and Grandpa Paul got him . . . I, by the way, am a little offended.  It said . . . Grandson, we may not share the same taste in clothes, or listen to the same music, or enjoy the same hobbies, but there's one thing we'll always have in common . . . trying to understand your parents!

The itty bitty cake.  When the weekend came we took the boys and some of his friends to see IronMan 3.  They all loved it.

So the boy can officially date and I'm not sure that I am ready for it.  It is a good thing he is heading off to the island for the summer.
